Our lavender lemonade recipe and limeade drinks are both so refreshing and perfect for any summer gathering!
Both take less than 5 minutes to make and even the kids will love them. Plus, you can use them as a base to create a delicious mocktail!
A pitcher of lavender lemonade is the best way to cool down on a hot summer day. It has a slightly floral flavor and uses fresh lemons and fresh lemon juice. It is a lovely addition to baby showers, bridal showers or really any special occasion.
It is flavorful and doesn’t even require hot or cold water as we start with a lavender soda for this recipe. It does require a trip to the grocery store but it is so worth it!
While this is not in the Christmas mocktails category, I think you will also love them during the holidays so wanted to share.
Lavender Lemonade and Limeade
There is nothing more I love every summer than making fresh lemonade. The kids and I usually do a lemonade stand to raise money for the children hospital.
Adding lavender simple syrup and lavender DRY Sparkling to our homemade lemonade or limeade really makes it feel so fresh! I like having both the lemonade and limeade options to appease all taste buds. I am personally a limeade fan but my husband loves lemonade.
Can you add some other herbs to take the flavor up a notch?
You can definitely add other fresh herbs to add even more flavor. I like to muddle some fresh thyme in as well as use it for garnish.
Feel free to also add little bit of maple syrup or even essential oils that you love. Don’t forget the lavender as a gorgeous garnish.
If you need some more lemonade recipes, our blackberry lemonade is fantastic and a Melting Pot copycat. Our lemon mocktail and ginger beer mocktail are also great drinks.
How to make lavender lemonade or limeade
- In a large pitcher, squeeze 6 fresh lemon (meyer lemonds or another variety) or limes if you are making limeadeto make juice
- (made simply with culinary use lavender, water and sugar over medium heat until sugar dissolves then using a fine mesh sleeve you get the gorgeous lavender flavor syrup)
-
Place 1/2 C ice in a cup and garnish the glass with lemon peel and fresh thyme
-
In the pitcher, add lavender Dry Soda bottles
-
Mix everything in the pitcher well
- Pour over cups with ice and garnish with lavender sprigs and lemon slices
What is the best lavender syrup to use?
I always use our homemade lavender simple syrup but Monin lavender syrup works great for store-bought. It is so flavorful and delicious plus, they use real cane sugar and natural ingredients which I love. Plus, they are always gluten-free and use non-GMO ingredients.
You can also add some non-alcoholic Prosecco for a more boozy lemonade flavor.
Can you use dried lavender buds instead?
You can certainly use dried lavender buds and a few cups of water to make your own lavender simple syrup. You will need purple food coloring if you want your syrup to be purple as they don’t let a lot of color out.
If you’ve gone a long way from home and visited a lavender farm recently, then definitely use the fresh buds.
It is more time intensive but Sugar and Charm has great instructions for doing this in her lavender gin and tonic punch.
How do you store this lavender lemonade and limeade?
You can store this lavender lemonade and limeade in the refrigerator for 7-10 days. Although it is much more fresh the first few days.
