I knew I had to make this frozen peppermint hot chocolate ever since I was first smitten with the taste years ago. When my husband and I were dating, he lived in Princeton while going to school and I was still in Utah. I looked forward to the trips when I got to go see him. Not only was he a blast to hang out with, but I knew we were going to have so much fun exploring the surrounding cities. This always included New York City.
One special weekend while I was there, he went all out getting us tickets to a broadway show, taking me to a thai restaurant for dinner (he doesn’t like thai food) and then to Serendipity 3 for their famous frozen hot chocolate. I should have known something was up. He proposed just two days later. He didn’t need to do any buttering me up before asking because I was already head over heels for him. However, I sure did love the treats!
While at Serendipity 3, we ordered the classic frozen hot chocolate as well as the peanut butter version. Both were fantastic and I have been craving it ever since. I decided it was time to take matters into my own hands and make it for my family and I at home.
