Jalapeno Simple Syrup

This spicy yet sweet jalapeno simple syrup is perfect for taking some of your favorite drinks like our non-alcoholic margarita mocktail to a savory level.

  • 1 C sugar
  • 1 C water
  • 1 jalapeno, sliced into discs


  • Add 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar to a pan and whisk well
  • Add 1 fresh sliced jalapeño
  • Bring to a boil whisking occasionally then remove from heat and let steep for 25 minutes
  • Pour syrup through a fine mesh strainer into a glass bottle, making sure to push down the fruit as you strain


It can be stored at room temperature or in the refrigerator, whichever you prefer. You can use a glass or plastic container just be sure it is cooled before pouring in if you are going to use plastic. 
It does not need to be refrigerated. It handles well at room temperature.
You can keep it for 1-2 weeks at room temperature or about 1 month in the refrigerator. Once it starts to get cloudy or discolored, it is no longer good.
