Chocolate Chip Cheeseball

This chocolate chip cheeseball recipe makes the best party food. It is such an easy dessert that everyone is going to love.
With simple ingredients, it is a sweet appetizer cheeseball that is perfect with Nilla wafers, pretzels and simple cookies.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips, divided
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Using a mixer, mix softened cream cheese and butter with vanilla and almond extracts and sugars until light and fluffy
  • Gently stir in 1/2 chocolate chips then cover and refrigerate for 2 hours
  • Remove the the refrigerator, shape into a ball and roll in 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips and 1/4 cup chopped pecans that have been mixed together

Notes

Storing - After serving, wrap the cheeseball in a layer of plastic wrap and then a layer of aluminum foil. Store in the fridge.
It will keep for about 4 days. It is so good that I doubt it will last that long.
Freezing - Wrap up the cheeseball just like you would when storing and place in the freezer. It will last up to 4 months.
When ready to defrost, put it in the fridge for 6 hours. Unwrap and place it at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving.
