In a small bowl, whisk eggs and milk
Heat a small non-stick skillet over medium heat with a teaspoon of butter
Once the butter has melted, add the eggs and scramble until cooked through and no longer runny then season to taste with salt and pepper
Remove the eggs and turn up the heat to medium then flash fry the ham slices for about 15 seconds per side giving them some color and warming them up (turn the heat back down to low when done)
Butter one slice of bread and put it buttered side down into the skillet and top with one slice of American cheese, eggs, ham, the a slice of Swiss cheese and finally, another buttered slice of bread (you can also use a panini press which I highly recommend)
Cook on low to low-medium heat for 1 to 2 minutes on each side or until the bread is golden brown, serve hot
