Our 3-ingredient strawberry simple syrup is perfect for mocktails and drinks as well as for adding flavor to and making cakes more moist!

Strawberry Simple Syrup in a glass jar

I love the fresh summer flavor of this sweet strawberry simple syrup. While I love adding a bit to my favorite strawberry mocktail like in this Valentines mocktails roundup, it’s also great for a fruity splash in our classic non-alcoholic gin and tonic.

I even love to combine it with some club soda, ice, cream our rose simple syrup for a fruity and floral flavored Italian soda. Or you can add it to steamed milk for a comforting, 2-ingredient drink.

Add some rosemary simple syrup for an herbal sweet infusion… Or, go full desert with a drizzle over this no bake strawberry pie!

It’s also great for making cake layers more moist like in this delicious strawberry cake recipe from my friend Liz at Sugar Geek Show.

    Strawberry Lemonade

Who doesn’t love a good strawberry lemonade right? It is so easy to combine this recipe with blackberry simple syrup in our blackberry lemonade recipe or just swap it out entirely for a refreshing and super easy summer drink!

And if you want to get uber easy, just add a bit to store bought lemonade. Costco has a great bottled one that I love.

    Fresh or Frozen Strawberries

This recipe can be used with either fresh or frozen strawberries. I do personally love using fresh but frozen works just as well and it is much easier if you are making it during the winter months.

These other recipes can also be made with fresh or frozen fruit…

    • Raspberry Simple Syrup
    • Blueberry Simple Syrup
    • Blackberry Simple Syrup
    • Peach Simple Syrup

    How to make it

    • Add 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar to a pan and whisk well
    • Add 1 1/2 cups of fresh strawberries
Strawberry Simple Syrup fruit segments in a strainer
    • Bring to a boil whisking occasionally then remove from heat and let steep for 45 minutes
    • Pour syrup through a fine mesh strainer into a glass bottle, making sure to push down the pulp as you strain

    Strawberry Mocktails

I love making these in the summer when berries are fresh and in season. You can add a splash of our strawberry simple syrup to any of these recipes for a fun variation.

    • Mimosa Mocktail
    • Lavender Lemonade
    • Prosecco Drink
    • Non-Alcoholic Moscow Mule

    How do you store it?

It can be stored at room temperature or in the refrigerator, whichever you prefer. You can use a glass or plastic container just be sure it is cooled before pouring in if you are going to use plastic.

You can keep simple syrup for 1-2 weeks at room temperature or about 1 month in the refrigerator. Once it starts to get cloudy, discolored or moldy, it is no longer good.
