Cooking frozen potstickers in air fryer is a quick and easy meal or an afternoon snack. Without having to use oil and fry these potstickers, you are having a delicious savory treat without the worry of eating something with a lot of extra fat.
If you are ever in the need of comfort food or a quick lunch, frozen potstickers are a great option. The last thing you want to do when cooking comfort food is actually cooking, so the air fryer is a perfect solution. In just 10 minutes, you will be sitting on your couch, binging your favorite TV show, and eating yummy air fryer potstickers.
Cooking with an air fryer is my favorite cooking method recently. It doesn’t require a long cooking time, you don’t have to deal with a pan of hot oil, and you can make great appetizers quick! One of my go-to appetizers is my Air Fryer Ravioli {Gluten-Free} recipe.
These air fryer frozen potstickers (also known as air fryer dumplings) are a game changer when it comes to snacking. I know that when my kids get home from school, they are ready for a snack. Popping pot stickers in the air fryer is an easy recipe and the kids will be happy.
Pot stickers are great on their own, but they are also super yummy with gluten-free soy sauce. There is no wrong answer when it comes to dipping your pot stickers in sauce. Definitely dip them in your favorite dipping sauce, or try something new, like rice vinegar or gluten free soy sauce.
One of the best things about this easy recipe is that there is no oil needed. If you notice that things tend to stick to your air fryer, feel free to use cooking spray such as olive oil or avocado oil before placing the potstickers down. You can also use parchment paper to keep them from sticking, if desired.
What you need
Since the recipe is for frozen potstickers, that is all you need. You’ll also want some dipping sauces, but that is not required for this easy air fryer recipe. This recipe really is the best way to cook potstickers.
Frozen potstickers
All you need for this recipe is a bag of frozen potstickers. You can find them in the freezer section at any local grocery store. You can also find them at Trader Joe’s because their frozen section always has great options.
We use gluten-free potstickers because it can be so hard to find gluten free Chinese food, but it all comes down to personal preference. It won’t make a difference when air frying this type of dumpling.
How to make the potstickers
- Preheat the air fryer at 380 degrees f
- Place the frozen potstickers into the air fryer basket in a single layer
- Cook at 380 degrees f for 5 minutes
- Flip the potstickers and cook for another 5-8 minutes
Top Tip: You can put your potstickers back in the air fryer for a couple more minutes if you find they’re not fully cooked.
Yes. Just like you preheat an oven, you will want to preheat the air fryer. Your potstickers will cook more evenly if you wait for the air fryer to preheat.
You can pretty much use any oil (except Pam) in the air fryer. The bests ones are avocado oil, olive oil, canola oil, and peanut oil. Make sure you check to see if anyone has allergies before using oils in the air fryer.
If you want, you can put some butter on whatever you are cooking in the air fryer (I don’t think this would be good with the frozen potstickers) for flavor, but it is not necessary for the cooking process. Since the air fries the food, you will not need butter to deep fry the food.

How to store leftovers
You can store leftover potstickers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. You should let your potstickers cool completely before storing. I recommend placing a paper towel in the bottom of your container to catch any excess moisture.
You can reheat these frozen potstickers in air fryer at 350 degrees for 3-5 minutes or until thoroughly hot. Reheating them in the air fryer will make them crispier than reheating in the microwave.
