You guys are going to love this flannel and flapjacks holiday party! It is full of rustic charm, tasty treats and even a delicious gluten-free gingerbread pancake recipe.
Whether you host an annual couples Christmas party or girls night out around the holidays, this flannel and flapjacks party is a great theme.
You guys, this flannel and flapjacks party was so much fun! I love getting together with friends and especially love themed girls night out parties. I know, I am one cheesy girl but it’s just so much fun. This year I decided to create a rustic flannel and flapjacks holiday party. I couldn’t find a tablecloth that I loved so I just went ahead and bought this perfect sheet set from Target. Sheets and wrapping paper work great in the place of a traditional tablecloth.
*BIG ANNOUNCEMENT*
Our Flannel and Flapjacks party was featured in a 5 page spread in Mingle Magazines winter 2017 issue!! We are so honored and thrilled! Check out a sneak peak…
I used my wood chargers to keep the rustic theme going as well as this elk antler from my brother-in-law. Wasn’t that so nice of him?ย His only request was that I not paint it gold. It was tough but I decided the rustic antler was great on it’s own. The cups were found in the clearance section of HomeGoods in a pack of six for under $10…score!
I made sure to have plenty of sugared cranberries for the girls to munch on and top their gingerbread pancakes with. We had a variety of syrups as well including cinnamon, maple and spiced buttermilk. Waiting at the table were vintage looking holiday bags, again found at HomeGoods for $0.99 each.
I also made sure first thing that each girl had a Sweet Savannah Co. signature shirt. It read, flannel & flapjacks these are a few of my favorite things. Everyone looked so cute in them!ย Since the breakfast dinner was filling but we were moving to another room for the rest of our flannel and flapjacks holiday party festivities; I made a treat bar. I wanted something close to the family room that the girls could pick and choose goodies from when they wanted. Since I didn’t want the girls to have to use utensils to eat, I chose sparkling cranberry cupcakes, peppermint brownie bites, pancake decorated sugar cookies and mini pancake topped maple cupcakes (recipe below).
This was also where I housed some of the party favors. I did mini canvas bags filled with our dry Glutino gluten-free gingerbread pancake mix, a holiday cookie cutter and mini Nutella.
While I chose to do breakfast foods, you could also end the evening cozy by the fireplace with Melting Pot cheese fondue.ย After dinner, we headed into the cozy family room around our Christmas tree for a gift exchange. We read this funny story that had each girl passing left and right until they ended up with a gift to open. I also gifted the girls with cozy socks to snuggle their toes up in. They also got a red nail polish for painting their tootsies during the movie.
The whole evening was a fun celebration of friendship. I loved seeing the girls laugh and visit over a casual meal and movie while comfortably enjoying a girls night in flannel jammies. This flannel and flapjacks party is one I will surely remember. I hope you guys can recreate for your own friends. Merry Christmas!
