These gluten-free snickerdoodles are so good that my friends who aren't gluten free asked for the recipe! Thanks to a unique blend of gluten-free flour measure for measure flour and almond flour, cultured dairy and two types of sugar, they are soft, chewy and so delicious that nobody would ever know they are gluten-free.

When you think of gluten-free snickerdoodles you want all the cinnamon sugar goodness wrapped up in a chewy cookie. That's exactly what you get here. Like our gluten free sugar cookies, they are one that is simple to make and really mimics the gluten FULL version. They are both great with a warm cup of spiced crockpot apple cider.
The best part about these gluten-free snickerdoodles is that they are so delicious that you can take them to gatherings and nobody would ever know they are gluten-free. We enjoy them on their own as well as sandwiched with ice cream in the middle. Either way, you can't go wrong.

Or go really crazy and serve them up with another delicious dessert like our Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Cookies in a Jar.
I highly recommend using a really good quality gluten-free flour if you need to. I really like this Cup4Cup flour but King Arthur GF flour works well too.
What makes these so great
- Extra chewy and soft thanks to the combination of butter and cultured dairy that work so well with the gluten free flours.
- Easy to make with just two flours and a key ingredients like cream of tartar which is a key ingredient in snickerdoodles.
- So easy to double the batch because you will definitely need them! We make double batches nearly every time we make them.
- Refrigerating the dough helps the cookies texture so much but in a pitch, you can skip that step and just make them right away.
How to make gluten-free snickerdoodles
- In a stand mixer (like your Bosch), combine all dry ingredients down to sugars and mix together well
- Combine butter, and both sugars in another bowl then add egg, sour cream and vanilla to the butter and sugars
- Add the butter mixture to the dry mixture a little at a time until all ingredients are incorporated
- Chill dough in the refrigerator for an hour

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Mix remaining sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl and roll small balls of dough into it to coat all sides
- Place dough balls on a cookie sheet a couple inches apart
- Bake 8-10 minutes for a chewy, soft cookie or 11-13 minutes for a crispier cookie
For no dairy, using a dairy free sour cream and dairy free butter will give you the results you want. I personally like Earth Balance butter sticks when it comes to dairy free baking.
