This 5-minute old fashioned Peaches and Cream Dessert is the perfect summer dessert that’s both quick and delicious. With just three simple ingredients, my classic no-bake treat captures the essence of summer with juicy peaches, creamy goodness, and a hint of sweetness. And you’ll love that you don’t have to heat up your kitchen to make it.

Ready in just 5 minutes, this is a recipe that’s been cherished in my family for over 50 years. I love that my grandparents enjoyed the same recipe that my little ones do now. Sometimes its the simple recipes that are the best!
What I love about this peaches n cream recipe
- Made with simple ingredients: With only three ingredients (yes, seriously!) you’ll have this peaches n cream dessert ready in no time. We consuulted with my mom and kept it just how she remembers it as a kid and how she made it for us. No extra fluff. It’s perfect for after school snacks or a quick dessert on a busy weeknight.
- It’s light and refreshing: With it’s cool, creamy texture and flavorful peaches, this recipe is refreshing, sweet, but doesn’t weigh you down like other desserts. Using classic heavy cream is what gives it that “grandma made it for your” feel. Don’t try to reduce fat here, just go for it! We have tried it with half and half in the kitchen and it just isn’t quite the same…
- Customizable: While I just like that classic, we found that a combination of peaches with berries is another great way to serve this classic. For example, you can add a few blueberries, blackberries or raspberries too.
How to pick the best peaches
The key to making this dessert recipe truly shine is by picking the best peaches. Look for fresh summer peaches that are soft but firm enough to cut without squishing. I love farmers market peaches, but ripe peaches from the grocery store will work just fine!
What you need
This simple dessert recipe calls for just three ingredients…
- Peaches (of course): I recommend soft and ripe peaches but make sure that they aren’t too mushy. You want to be able to slice them easily but not have the juice just pouring out. Be sure to grab extra for our gluten free peach cobbler too!
- Sugar (white or brown): I ALWAYS choose brown sugar here for a bit of that buttery note but gif you prefer white sugar, go for it.
- Heavy whipping cream: The stuff grandma loves! I have tried half and half in my kitchen but didn’t love it quite the same. I have also tried dairy free cream and it works great!
How to make peaches and cream dessert
- Slice: Slice peaches and divide them into 4 serving dishes (no need to remove the skin unless it gives you the ick). I like to do them about 1 inch thick.
- Sweeten: Sprinkle 1-2 tablespoons of sugar on the peaches and stir to combine. Let the peaches rest for a few minutes. This is the secret step for getting those peaches to release their juices!
- Pour: Pour cold cream over the peaches and enjoy. But remember to always use colds cream, it is just so satisfying against the summer peaches plus it is easier to pour it straight from the fridge.
Pro Tip: While peaches n cream are a classic dish on it’s own, you can also add vanilla ice cream, peach simple syrup, a drizzle of honey, or extra brown sugar.
