Gluten-Free Christmas Crack
Ingredients
- 1 box gluten-free Glutino table crackers
- 1 c salted butter
- 1 c brown sugar
- 2 c chocolate chips
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 325ยฐFLine a large baking pan with aluminum foil and spray the foil with non-stick cooking sprayNext, line the pan with gluten-free Table crackersMeanwhile, place the butter and brown sugar in a pot over medium-low heatWhisk until the butter is meltedOnce melted, bring to a boil for 2-3 minutes whisking constantlyRemove pan from heat and pour evenly over crackersSpread mixture with a spatulaBake for 7-9 minutes at 325 degreesRemove pan and allow to cool 2 minutesMeanwhile, melt the chocolate and then pour over the top with a spatulaPlace in the freezer for 30 minutes to an hourOnce chocolate has hardened break pieces off the foil and plateThis candy will stay fresh for 1 โ 2 weeksย

Love this stuff! Used Schar crackers. Followed instructions. Any idea why mine ended up more flexible than really hard? Iโve had it with gluten and remember it being more crunchy than chewyโฆ Wondering if I did something wrong.

Yes, for 8 min. Iโll try the full 9 next time. I also cooled partially on the counter then in the fridge because I wanted the chocolate to stay nice and shiny. Iโll use the freezer next time and see if that makes a difference.

I made this with Earth Balance soy free butter substitute and it turned out amazing! I wasnโt sure what would happen but had friends coming that are dairy free and it was a hit. I used Nestle allergen free chocolate chips on top.
