A Vegan Charcuterie Board doesn’t have to be complicated. Craft a gorgeous board like this in under 10 minutes. The best part is, nobody will even know they are eating healthier this holiday season!

Round wood board with dried fruit, coconut chips and healthy snacks

I love making a small charcuterie board or a gluten-free charcuterie board when I’m in the mood for a snack. Charcuterie boards are not only easy to assemble, but they also elevate any meal or snack. With just a few simple ingredients and a wooden board, you’re on your way to an aesthetically pleasing snack that will satisfy both your hunger and creativity.

Why I love a vegan charcuterie board

    • Perfect for parties: Snack boards are a great way to please a large crowd. With a wide variety of ingredients, there’s going to be something for everyone.
    • Customizable: One of the best things about a charcuterie board is their versatility and adaptability. Add fresh fruit, bell peppers, or any of your favorite snacks to make it uniquely yours.
    • Impressive yet easy: Not only is a charcuterie board an efficient way to feed a large group, it’s also the perfect appetizer to impress your guests.
    • Healthy appetizer: While I love serving the best cheeseball or loaded tater tots as an appetizer, this vegan snack board is a healthier option thats still delicious.

How do you balance flavors on a charcuterie board?

To balance the textures and flavors on a charcuterie board, it’s important to include a variety of different types of food. For example, include savory elements like veggies, hummus, peanut butter, cheeses, etc. and pair them with sweeter ingredients like fruits, dates, chocolate chips, and honey. Do the same with crunchy and soft textured foods!

On this summer charcuterie board, I like to place the honey bowl by the soft cheeses and crunchy crackers for the ultimate flavor and texture combo!

What to include in a vegan charcuterie board

Making a charcuterie board without meat is easier than you might think. There are so many plant based products you can add to the board depending on your preferences. Here are a few of my favorite charcuterie ingredients…

    • Dried mangos: These have a sweet taste and add a pop of color to the board. Pair with other dried fruit like dried apple slices, dried berries, and dried banana chips.
    • Fresh dates: Medjool dates are natures candy! They’re naturally sweet with a hint or caramel flavor that go great with peanut butter or chocolate chips.
    • Fresh berries: But small strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries into small bowls around the board to prevent them from rolling or getting squished.
    • Dairy free cheese: While you don’t need vegan cheese for this board, it does add an extra savory element. Plus, cheese goes great with crackers and some fruit.
    • Crackers: I love adding gluten free crackers, pretzels, or chips to eat with cheese or dips.
    • Vegetables: Putting veggies on the board adds color, flavor, and nutrients. I love carrots sticks, bell pepper slices, tomatoes, broccoli, and cucumber slices.

How to assemble a charcuterie board

Set up the board: Pick a large enough board to feed your guests and place knives and any other needed silverware around the board. If you’re wanting a small charcuterie board, try these individual charcuterie boxes.

Add wet items: Place dips, spreads, and watery fruit into small bowls around the board. I like to use bowls with different colors and shapes.

Add cheese: If you’re using vegan cheese, arrange it around the board where you see fit. I like to separate the soft and hard cheeses.

Add snacks: Distribute fruit, crackers, nuts, coconut flakes, and other ingredients throughout the board. Try alternating colors and textures.

Add sweets: Finish with chocolates, candies, or any other sweet treats you’re adding to the board.

Fill in gaps: Add greens or other herbs in the gaps for a full and vibrant look.

Tips for making an aesthetic charcuterie board

    • Layer and cluster: Arrange small items in clusters and layers throughout the board to create an abundant look. This thanksgiving charcuterie board is a great example.
    • Keep it in season: Using seasonal fruits and veggies is the best way to ensure your produce is fresh. Plus, it’s cost effective!
    • Have a theme: If you’re making this for a themed party feel free to set a theme for the board. Cut cheeses and fruit into shapes and use colorful bowls that go with the theme.

How do I store charcuterie leftovers?

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week. For vegan cheese, fruits, and other perishables, store in the fridge and consume within 3 days. Keeping items separate will help preserve freshness.
