I love making this 30 minute Thanksgiving charcuterie board as a beautiful and tasty snack before the big meal. It has flavors and colors of fall with pumpkin dip, harvest fruits and even themed sugar cookies!
If you love a good gluten-free charcuterie, then you are in for a treat with this fall board! Like with our Halloween charcuterie board, we combined some of our favorite sweet and salty snacks on one big board that everyone will love. You can even make it a smaller version with our individual charcuterie boxes and charcuterie cones or go big with a grazing table.
Thanksgiving Charcuterie Board
We have always had a big Thanksgiving spread that starts with delicious appetizers. Our BEST cheeseball, instant pot artichoke dip and sour cream chip dip are the ones we make the most. Go BIG and make a grazing table for a crowd!
Thanksgiving leftovers are my absolute favorite, but if you don’t reheat them the right way, they aren’t the best. Check out our reheating Thanksgiving sides tips and tricks for the best leftovers.
If you are wanting some more sides to try, check out our honey baked ham sides post. It has all of the best Thanksgiving sides.
This year I wanted to do something a little bit different so I created this Thanksgiving charcuterie board! It features lots of fall flavors like pumpkin butter, chestnuts, pomegranate and toasted pecans.
It also has some sweet treats in fun shapes like cozy sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes and pumpkins. The combo of sweet and salty truly make this the perfect appetizer!
The fact that it takes less than 30 minutes to make and doesn’t require you to make a bunch of other dishes is just a bonus. So let’s talk more about how to make it…
What you need to make it
What I love most about charcuterie boards is how incredibly versatile they are! You can easily add whatever you want or swap things out based on your preferences. They go great with our Thanksgiving punch recipes non alcoholic as well as our non alcoholic mulled wine.
For this Thanksgiving charcuterie board, I chose fall themed items. Feel free to use something different like persimmons or just pomegranate seeds if you prefer. Here is what we used though…
- variety of cheese
- variety of cured meats
- olives, pickles, caperberries and/or artichoke hearts
- dips (pumpkin butter, artichoke dip and pistachio cream are my favorites) and the sweet ones also go great on our pancake charcuterie board
- crackers or chips
- decorated sugar cookies
- fresh fruits (pears, apples and pomegranate)
Other helpful information: Here is what we recommend for how early can you make Thanksgiving sides. You can also use our Thanksgiving non perishable foods list to help you with shelf stable cooking.
Themed Sugar Cookies
Ok, if you know me then you know that beautifully decorated sugar cookies are a part of nearly every gathering I host. You can keep icing decor simple or you can go elaborate thanks to Enchanted Cookie Boutiques talents!
For our Halloween board we did eyeballs, bats and moons as well as an edible 3D coffin! We’ve also featured Thanksgiving cookies in the shapes of traditional Thanksgiving dinner.
They’ve also been featured in many other parties and gatherings I’ve hosted including these… a white Christmas dinner party, gingerbread decorating party, our witches night out Halloween party, a ladies night football party, galentineโs party, and we even made charcuterie and cheeseboard cookies!
How to make a Thanksgiving Charcuterie Board
Step 1: Get a board and place cups and spreaders where you would like them
Pro Tip: If you want less clean up mess, add some wax paper to the board first
Step 2: Add some dips or sauces in the little cups
Step 3: Also add things like pickles which are wet and can make a mess
Pro Tip: The cups are especially great for berries, olives and anything with “juices” so they donโt get your other board ingredients soggy
Step 4: Add cheeses around the board, I recommend at least three varieties
Step 5: Add themed decorated sugar cookies like we did here with the white sweaters, orange pumpkins and leaves
Step 6: Finish with cured meats, crackers, fruits and veggies (I love adding fresh pomegranate to this board!)
Can you make it dairy-free?
This Thanksgiving charcuterie board can absolutely be made dairy-free. Just choose dairy-free cheeses and dips or leave them off entirely.
There are plenty of incredible non-dairy cheeses out there now from Violife slices (they are the only ones my little boys will eat) to Treeline spreads. Boursin cheese, our favorite, even has a dairy-free spread now!
You can even add our vegan gluten-free chocolate chip cookies for a tasty sweet treat.
How do you store leftovers?
It is best to put all items that need refrigeration such as cheeses, meats and dips into containers. They can then be refrigerated until you want to enjoy them again.
Crackers, fruits, cookies and non-refrigerated items can also be placed in containers and bags and store at room temperature.
Gluten-Free Thanksgiving Dinner
Thanksgiving dinner is one of my favorite meals of the year! I love all the classics like our gluten-free turkey, gluten-free green bean casserole, gluten-free mashed potatoes and gluten-free gravy, and sausage apple stuffing.
Our fun and delicious sides like gluten-free sweet potato casserole with pecan brown sugar topping and gluten-free cornbread casserole are also delicious accompaniments.
Itโs also great though to try new takes on delicious fall flavors like we do in our apple cider cupcakes and pecan pie bread pudding. If you want something really different, our Thanksgiving cookies in the shapes of Thanksgiving dinner foods and our gluten-free apple pie cookie cups are sure to please!
Donโt forget the drinksโฆ Our Thanksgiving mocktails and crockpot apple cider are always a hit especially at our outdoor Thanksgiving dinner.
