A birthday charcuterie board is a cute way to spice up a birthday party. With all of the bright colors, yummy treats, and fun decorations, it will be the hit of the party.
Birthday cake is good and everything, but I like to switch things up. Having a dessert charcuterie board is a new and exciting way to celebrate the big day! They are especially fun to decorate according to the theme of the birthday party.
In need of birthday dessert ideas? Birthday charcuterie boards are as fun to make as they are visually appealing and also tasty.
You can throw all of your favorite desserts together on a marble slap you typically use for a cheese board to create a unique board for a party! It would especially work well at a Two Legit To Quit Party with black and gold treats.
I love going all out when it comes to decorating for parties (well, for anything really…), so I love this birthday dessert board. You can decorate it however you want, even adding these cakesicles, a small drip cake or our bento cake so you can get creative!
I like to have it match the theme of the party, so for a princess party it is all about sparkles and pretty pink colors. It’s definitely one of our unique charcuterie boards.
Charcuterie boards are fun for any event, like a game night, corporate event, holiday event, open house, and especially a birthday party. I think this birthday charcuterie board is perfect for a milestone birthday, because you can make it the center of the snack table or grazing table.

What you need
Typically, charcuterie boards contain cheeses, meats, and crackers, but this birthday charcuterie board will include all of the sweet, yummy treats your heart desires!
Mini cakes
The main piece of this charcuterie board will be the mini cakes. We use gluten-free bundt cakes, but you could use mini cupcakes, or whatever you like. These mini cakes are perfect to put candles in.
You can buy cakes like we did with these gluten-free mini bundt cakes or make your own. Our chocolate orange cake with marshmallow frosting is my favorite! But our like our bento cake is perfect because it is already tiny and our gluten free apple cake is another great option especially for a fall birthday.
Candied popcorn
I find that candied popcorn is perfect to fill in any spaces on the charcuterie board that may look empty. Plus, who doesn’t love candied popcorn? It also is visually appealing, as it is colorful.
Bubble yum tape
Bubble yum tape is such a fun addition to this recipe. It can be manipulated in whichever way you want, so I made pieces of the bubble yum tape look like swirly confetti. It is so pretty and so fun!
How to make a birthday charcuterie board
- Start by placing tiny cake stands on the charcuterie board with the little cakes on top
- Put cotton candy in a few spots around the board
- Add bubble gum balls to a pretty bowl and add it to the board
- Put marshmallows and candied popcorn in different spots around the board
- Use 6 inch pieces of bubble gum tape to make curls like party ribbon and place them around the board
- Stick suckers into the cotton candy throughout the board
- Sprinkle the board with sprinkles for a fun finish!
This recipe is so easy, that you can make it up to fifteen minutes before your party starts. I would recommend doing it a little earlier than that in case someone shows up early, but it can be put together quickly.
It all depends on what birthday treats you choose to put on your birthday charcuterie board. Candies are easy to store. The gum balls, bubble yum tape, popcorn, suckers, and other candies are fine to leave as is. You will want to put plastic wrap over the board to keep it fresher, especially with the small cakes. You can take your time eating the candy (eat the cotton candy faster as it will get stale), but the small cakes should last about 4 days.
