How to make gluten free Oreo balls
Crush cookies
Crush the Oreo cookies in a blender or food processor. Do so until the cookies are in fine crumbs.
Then add in the cream cheese. Pulse until the cookie mixture holds together.
Make cookie balls
Take the cookie mixture and roll it in your hands to make 1-inch balls. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
You can also use wax paper. Let the cookie balls chill for one hour.
Melt bark
Melt the white almond bark in the tray provided in the microwave. Follow the packaging directions to ensure it doesnโt burn.
Stir the bark until smooth and just melted. Stirring often will help the bark melt well.
Cover in almond bark
After the cookie balls are cool, dip them in the melted bark. We recommend using a fork so you don’t make a mess.
Place the Oreo cake balls in a single layer on the cookie sheet. Top with sprinkles, then allow them to cool.
Tips for recipe success
- Use soft cream cheese – For the best results, allow the cream cheese to soften at room temperature for an hour. We recommend using softened cream cheese works best for this recipe.
- Small cookie scoop – If you don’t want to get your hands dirty, use a small cookie scoop to make the cookie balls.
- Try different flavors – Instead of sprinkles, try crushing up a candy cane to make this treat a festive holiday dessert.
Storage and freezing
Storing – Oreo balls should be placed in an airtight container and stored in the fridge. They will last 3 weeks in the fridge.
Freezing – You can absolutely freeze this decadent treat. Place the balls in an airtight container. Make sure you add a piece of parchment paper in between each layer.
This yummy treat will keep in the freezer for 2 months. You can place them in the fridge so they can thaw when you are ready to eat them, or enjoy them frozen!

If you find that the balls are still wet after refrigerating them, let them continue to cool for another 15-20 minutes. Another option is setting them in the freezer for 10 minutes to let them set a little more.
Can I use regular Oreos for this recipe?
Absolutely! You could use any type of Oreo really. We use gluten-free Oreos for this recipe because of my celiac diagnosis.
