This family in our neighborhood always knocks it out of the park with the BEST themed costumes! Whether they are killing it as the Beetlejuice family costume clan or as the characters from Harry Potter (our Harry Potter party food makes a great accompaniment), they do not hold back.

Not every them has to be this intensive though. You can keep it simple and classic or go more modern. You can also do easy versions of your favorite groups of people or even go store bought.

If baking up delicious Halloween mocktails or treats like spider cookies or no bake ghost cookies sounds more exciting to you than sewing a costume, it is absolutely ok to buy one!

Apple Cider Chicken Marinade & Fall Harvest Dinner Party

This apple cider marinade chicken is so moist and tender! It is going to be your new favorite chicken recipe. When added to our fall green salad of baby kale, arugula, candied pecans, apples and pecorino Romano cheese, it makes the perfect main dish at any fall harvest dinner party!

Apple Cider Chicken Marinade

Using apple cider vinegar is great as a marinade. It infuses so much flavor and also tenderizes. I love using BRIANNAS Organic Apple Cider Vinaigrette as the base for this marinade because it already has a savory blend of spices and apple cider vinegar with mother. PLUS, it's organic!

I use it as both the chicken marinade for chicken breast or with our BEST roast chicken as well as the salad dressing. By simply adding fresh herbs like tarragon, onion, salt and pepper, you have a simple yet fantastic marinade!

When setting your table up, think simple and clean so the food really shines. Wood tones and a few metals like copper and gold are a nice start. You can either go more modern like we did here or go with a farmhouse style like we did in our farm to table dinner party.

Either way, BRIANNAS bottles make the perfect addition to the table as they are both practical and beautiful. I like having one or two on the table so people can dress their salad and meat with a more dressing if they'd like (which they very likely will).

Fall Dinner Menu

As with any dinner party menu, I love having a nice variety. Vegetables are my dish of choice and I always like to have a few different options. Whether you go with our red cabbage salad, gluten-free sweet potato casserole or something else entirely, your guests will definitely be happy with such a colorful menu.

I do recommend keeping things simple though, so you don't have to feel too overwhelmed while planning and preparing. That's why I always like to do a BIG charcuterie board as a centerpiece and starter.

Fall Charcuterie Board

It is so easy to put together the BEST charcuterie board. Choose a few great cheeses, meats and accompaniments then display them on a gorgeous woodsy board. Here are a few of our favorite things to include. These things are richer in color so perfect for fall.

We also like to serve up a brie wheel topped with butter, brown sugar and pecans then bake it. Add some green apples for dipping and you've got an amazing appetizer!

Our Whole30 butternut squash soup makes the perfect belly warming starter to any fall menu. We love to top it off with salty, roasted pumpkin seeds. Green beans with bacon and crispy shallots makes another wonderful vegetable side dish. We simply fried shallots in bacon grease with chopped bacon then once the bacon is cooked, toss in green beans. Cook for about 5 minutes tossing regularly.

We added some sliced almonds as a nice garnish at the end. Be sure to serve warm...We used this cute Target bowl to make a build your own caprese salad dish. We used fresh summer basil and tomatoes, sliced mozzarella and served it with flaky sea salt and olive oil. It was one of my favorite things to eat at the dinner!For our salad, we added some sustenance with Apple Cider Vinaigrette marinated chicken. Candied pecans are one of my favorite salad toppers. They add great crunch and just a bit of sweetness along with the sliced apples. To make the best one pan roasted butternut squash, we love to cook it with butter or coconut oil, salt and pepper. You can also add a bit of brown sugar if you want it sweeter.

Fall Tablescape

To set the table for our fall harvest dinner party, we kept things simple and modern with touches of warm fall colors like with these amber bottles filled with dried pampas grass. My husband refinished this table recently and I couldn't wait to use it for a dinner party. He did such a good job right?!

The stark difference between the wood table and the white cloth table runner and napkins make for an eye catching table. The Hearth and Home by Magnolia clay dishes are my absolute favorite to use as well and they are so modern.

Copper cups also warm the table up and feel like the perfect fall mocktail cup. I also love placing bright green beans in a beautiful wood bowl.

Fall Mocktails

Making the perfect mocktail doesn't have to be hard. We show you everything about how to make put them together in our mocktail how to guide.

Our Halloween mocktails are a great place to look for fun fall drinks but our crockpot apple cider is also a great option. For this dinner, we went with our icy Moscow mule mocktail or non-alcoholic Moscow mule. We used ginger soda and fresh mint muddled for a fantastic drink.
I always love setting up our gold and wood bar cart with drinks and treats. This time we only did one simple marble and wood cake stand of cookies with water and our mocktail.

On the bottom, we decorated it with colorful pumpkins. Just simple and sleek...

I wanted a simple kids activities for our dinner party. I decided on a little fall book station with cozy blankets and the cutest little tiered book basket. I got some of our fall books out and the kids looked at them a bit.But the mostly just played with my friend puppies she brought...they are way more fun! Cuddly puppies, fall books, delicious food and good company. What more could you ask for?

Ingredients

Marinade
4 chicken breasts
1 bottle BRIANNAS apple cider vinaigrette
1 tablespoon tarragon or basil, chopped
1 teaspoon dried onion
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
Salad
2 C arugula
2 C baby kale
2 red apples
pecorino romano, shaved
Candied Butter Pecans
1 C pecans
¼ C butter
¼ C brown sugar

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine chicken, all but ⅓ C BRIANNAS dressing, dried onion, salt, pepper and tarragon or basil
Let the chicken marinate for 8 hours and up to overnight
Meanwhile, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat
Add the pecans and toss to coat, continue cooking for 3-4 minutes while tossing
Pour onto a piece of wax paper and let cool completely
After your chicken has marinated, heat up your grill and cook chicken breasts over medium heat until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees
Let the chicken rest 5 minutes while you prepare the salad
Prepare the salad by tossing arugula and baby kale with ⅓ C reserved BRIANNAS apple cider vinegar dressing then top with candied pecans, sliced apples, shaved pecorino romano and sliced, grilled chicken breast

Mermaid Baby Shower & DIY Diaper Cupcakes

Mermaid Baby Shower

What fun this mermaid baby shower was to throw! From the decorations to the food, I had a blast styling this under the sea adventure; but the funnest part of all was making DIY diaper cupcakes.

Of course, if I was going to make them, I wanted to gift them to the new mommy and that meant making sure I chose a diaper that she would actually want to use on her newborn.

I am SO excited to show you all the fun aspects of this mermaid baby shower as well as a step-by-step tutorial for making your very own diaper cupcakes! And if you need another idea, our succulent baby shower is another great idea.

Mermaid party paper products

For all the mermaid baby shower cupcake goodies, popcorn tags and even the custom made pearls of advice sign, we chose to use Loraleelewis.com products. Her stuff is just stunning and we couldn't resist the vintage mermaid look it provided our party with.

Baby Shower Activities

One of the first ideas I had with this mermaid baby shower was to do a station where friends of the soon-to-be mommy could give her their "pearls of advice". Edible chocolate pearl candies made a great treat especially when served up in this vintage jadeite shell scalloped bowl.

I know as a new mom, we tend to hear the advice people gladly share with us verbally at our shower but we are either too overwhelmed with the party to digest it or we just take it lightly rather than to heart. My best advice for new mama's is to REMEMBER the advice of wise moms who have gone before you. Easier said than done right?

Well, instead of having everyone write their parent tips on paper, which would likely get thrown away or forgotten, I had guests write their advice right on the diaper! Doing this allows mama to read and digest wise counsel at the time she would need it most...in the heart of parenting.

We then created these darling DIY diaper cupcakes as a party favor for our mermaid baby shower guests to gift other new mamas with and make their day. Package them in pretty little designer cupcake liners and top with a cute cupcake topper for some extra pizzazz.

Finally, place them in a fun little bakery box and you have some unique and oh-so-cute party favors that will actually get used! Of course, we also gifted guests with bags of yummy edible pearl popcorn so they could enjoy a party favor themselves as well.

How to make DIY diaper cupcakes

Open the diaper and flip it inside out so that the white inside lining shows
Fold in the sides vertically so that you have one long 2-3 inch wide inside out diaper
Starting at one end, roll the diaper tightly to form your "cupcake" (be sure to tuck as you go so only white shows)
Secure the bottom of the bundle with a mini elastic band
Place elastic band side down into a cupcake liner
Top with a cupcake topper and place in your bakery box

We kept the food sweet with two varieties of cookies, cupcakes and "mermaid milk" which was really just milk with blue candy beads for "bubbles".

Our pearl cookies were SUPER easy to make. I just bought some pistachio flavored macaroons and opened them very gently. I then stuck in an edible pearl candy and placed them on the cake stand.

The gorgeous mermaid and mermaid tail cookies were created by my ever talented friend Shanan over at Enchanted Cookie Boutique (she does nationwide shipping...woot, woot).

For the mermaid baby shower decor, I just had to style this tablescape on my mermaid green dresser because it even has the gold shimmer reminiscent of a mermaids tail in the sunshine.

The gold runner was another touch that reminded me of a mermaid tail. My sweet friends Scott and Rachel are always so kind to let me "shop" their home for party items and this one was no exception.

They literally have the coolest vintage items. Remember my lemon and lavender spa party? Those vintage crates and yellow scale were from them!

This time, I found some beautiful seashells, starfish and even some beach glass that Scott's mom found herself years ago. These items were exactly what I needed to create the look I wanted. Balloons in the back where set to look like bubbles while my handcrafted (by my husbands grandfather) wood bassinet served as the perfect gift and party favor holding space.

Isn't this party fun? It's always a blast to put together events that celebrate some of the most special days in our lives and the lives of others.All opinions are my own. Two Legit To Quit Party - 90's Hip Hop

This two legit to quit 90's hip hop birthday party was one of my favorite celebrations to both plan and be present for. It was full of carefree fun.

My little lady didn't choose the two legit to quit 90's hip hop birthday party theme but since she was only turning two, I figured she wouldn't mind that I did.

This year, we wanted something a bit more funky fun. I found this two legit 2 quit shirt and this invitation on Etsy and couldn't resist building the entire theme around them.

The best part about planning toddler birthday parties is that they see magic in any theme. They don't care how many decorations there are or what the invitations look like. They love it no matter what!

Luckily for us, that means that we get to be creative and come up with themes that we love. I have always been a 90's girl at heart. I went through many of my most impressionable years during the 90's and loved all of the trends. My favorite was hip hop music though...

90's Party Favors

I bought these plastic grillz for all the guests. It was hilarious to see the kids wearing them while smiling and laughing. Of course, we also had to have bling so I bought the plastic dollar sign necklaces.

90's Party Decor

I like creating fresh new party themes and since this one had nothing online at the time of my styling it (except for the invitation and kids shirt) I decided that a two legit to quit 90's hip hop birthday party was a theme that would be fresh indeed!

I loved getting that hip hop hooray look with tons of oversized gold chain balloons. The poster size print of the words from Biggies song also made a great addition to decor. I even bought a gold blow up boom box!

Hip Hop Party Food

The food was all treats and in theme with the party. We displayed vanilla sandwich cookies with edible Wilton Gold Color Mist, two legit to quit frosted cassette tape sugar cookies, edible gold leaf flaked on our baked gluten-free brownie recipe and gold sprinkled cupcakes (I recommend our Dr. Pepper Cupcakes).

For our mocktails, we had grape juice filled baby bottles with gold lids. They were so easy to spray paint ahead of time and get this awesome look!

To make them, I bought these plastic bottles on Amazon then spray painted the lids. Be sure to give yourself enough time for them to dry thoroughly though.

Sugar daddy suckers and a mini naked layer cake were also treats that guests got to enjoy. This cake was the perfect size for little lady.

Again, we used our gold edible spray paint for the cake and added a bling filled cake topper. It was simple but since it was basically her smash cake, we didn't mind.

We kindly requested that everyone where backwards hats and any other 90's attire they'd like. I couldn't resist buying Josh this I like it when you call me big papa t-shirt. He was obviously thrilled...

For little lady, hers read, "Two Legit 2 Quit". We paired it with a big gold bow and she looked so cute! The perfect little hip hop baby indeed.

90's Party Games

For entertainment, we played a variation of duck, duck, goose by saying hip, hip hop. The kids (and adults) thought it was a hoot!

We also played musical chairs with (age appropriate, edited) hip hop music. This was another exciting game that got the kiddos laughing and asking for more.

This truly was a celebration we will remember forever and not just for the theme. Having family together while celebrating someone we adore so much is one of my favorite past times...

Ok, if you know me then you know that beautifully decorated sugar cookies are a part of nearly every gathering I host. You can keep icing decor simple or you can go elaborate like many you see here, thanks to Enchanted Cookie Boutiques talents!

Decorated Sugar Cookies for Christmas and New Years

You guys know I love a beautiful themed sugar cookies at any party I host. So I figured we couldn’t go wrong with these gingerbread boys and houses at little ladies gingerbread decorating party.

My friend Shanan over at Enchanted Cookie Boutique couldn’t have created my vision more beautifully. Just look at all that detail!

I’ve always wanted to host a white Christmas dinner party from the very first pin I pinned on Pinterest back in probably about 2010. It was a collection of white snowflake sugar cookies and other white Christmas dessert items.

I just love how beautiful freshly fallen snow looks and a white Christmas dinner party reminds me of just that. These gorgeous white sweater and snowflake sugar cookies that Shanan made were the perfect party addition. They not only look beautiful but they also taste fantastic!

Ok and these nativity cookies are more than just cookies...they are a Christmas countdown edible nativity! Each day there is a linen bag with a number on it and a cookie inside that has a coordinating scripture.

Seriously, how fun would kids think that nativity was?! It is interactive yet gets their attention so maybe, just maybe they will be even more interested in the message given through that days scripture. Since we did a DIY bubbly tower using Dry Sparkling soda at our glam new years eve party, I knew I needed to mimic the theme with little bubbly drink sugar cookies from our friend Shanan. I love that she even offers gluten-free cookies so I never have to miss out on the sweet side of the party!

Thanksgiving, Halloween and Fall Sugar Cookies

Thanksgiving cookies are the NEW dessert to serve! They look beautiful and taste great too. Plus, no heavy baking on your part like with traditional pies…

These delicious, decorated sugar cookies are just a quick phone call or email away… Shanan at Enchanted Cookie Boutique does all the baking, decorating and ships them right to your front door!

I love this because it gives you more time in the kitchen to cook that gluten-free turkey, gluten-free green bean casserole with homemade fried onions and delicious sausage and apple gluten-free stuffing.

Our witches night out Halloween party was full of spooky fun! You can easily re-create it for your favorite girlfriends for a memorable night.

Choose one themed treat that will really POP! These vintage looking pumpkins as well as old Halloween prints on edible paper were so cute and absolutely delicious! I love that Shanan can get even more creative with cookies by using a rice paper printer.

This ladies night football party is sure to be a hit with your sporty friends (and might just make their husbands a little jealous too). To me, the football & stadium gluten free cookies from enchanted cookie boutique were definitely the star of the table!

I love having her do such beautiful creations at my celebrations. We also whipped up a batch of gluten-free brownies. I simply baked them in a pan then cut them into football shapes and topped them with frosting laces.

Valentines Sugar Cookies

A galentine’s party are so much fun because they are a beautiful but laid back way to get your gal pals together in February.

There were also chocolates on a heart plate which looked so festive. We also did lipstick and chocolate dipped strawberry sugar cookies from my friend Shanan at Enchanted Cookie Boutique. If you are not a big fan of the traditional Valentines chocolate box, then you are going to SWOON over these Valentine’s Day sugar cookies in a chocolate box!

A small 2 oz. heart box holds three to four candy cups with mini Valentines day sugar cookies. The large 1 lb. heart box holds roughly twelve to fourteen.

I got my brown paper cups on Amazon. A 200 pack was only $4 so definitely a good deal. The white candy cups were a bit more for less but either work great.

The last of the three things you are going to need are Valentine’s Day sugar cookies! For this DIY project, you are going to want mini cookies, not full size.

Food Decorated Sugar Cookies

With my talented friend Shanan over at Enchanted Cookie Boutique, I’ve enjoyed lots of food cookies. These charcuterie and cheeseboard cookies were my favorite!

This cute little veggie platter at our farm to table dinner could not have turned out cuter! We has broccoli, sliced radishes, baby carrots, cauliflower, cucumber slices, cherry tomatoes and a 3D veggie dip cookie to put in the center. We’ve also done lobsters and lemons for our lobster boil party and milk glasses for a cookies and milk party. Our 4th of July backyard bash even featured edible cookie snow cones. The kids loved those… These caramel dipped red and green apple cookies with sprinkles were very whimsical and fun. They were perfect for our fall art of hand lettering workshop.

Birthday and Baby Shower Decorated Sugar Cookies

If you are looking for a fresh, modern look, this cactus succulent baby shower is definitely going to please. Our dessert table featured these cactus and baby onesie cookies from our friend Shanan.

This two legit to quit 90’s hip hop birthday party was one of my favorite celebrations to both plan and be present for. It was full of carefree fun and the food was all treats and in theme with the party.

Shanan made us these Two Legit to Quit cookies that still get orders for her every month from people seeing them here and reaching out. We displayed vanilla sandwich cookies with edible Wilton Gold Color Mist, edible gold leaf flaked brownies, gold sprinkled cupcakes and grape juice filled baby bottles with gold lids.

We did an American Girl bday party for little lady last year. We kept it pretty simple and low key just letting the girls play dolls but of course, I had to have a themed cookie.

These doll box cookies were soooo fun! I love that Shanan was able to use rice paper to print out actual American Girl doll faces for an extra authentic look. She also did stars since that is kind of AG's thing. Our gal was so excited when she saw them!I knew I had to create a “Hatchy Birthday” Hatchimals birthday party for my little guy who absolutely loves these furry little creatures to make his day even more amazing!

To make this Hatchimals party amazing, try to keep things along the theme. For our snacks, we decided to have our friend Shanan of Enchanted Cookie Boutique make these Hatchimal eggs and creatures.

At first when I called her to ask to make them for us, she said, “Um, what is a Hatchimal.” I sent her some pictures and she quickly got to it. I loved that she could make them more blue and green for boys or pink and purple for girls too!

She never disappoints so I wasn’t worried one bit about how they would turn out. Shanan is truly so talented!

I love styling al fresco dinner parties. They are always such a fun party to dream up! For this one, I kept it earthy with these geode cookies.

I am simply amazed with the owner Shanan & the fact that I can give her an idea of what I want, and she can execute it perfectly every time. Her talent is incredible!

I did a fun little mermaid baby shower for my friend and it was so fun! We kept the food sweet with two varieties of cookies, cupcakes and “mermaid milk” which was really just milk with blue candy beads for “bubbles”.

Our pearl cookies were SUPER easy to make. I just bought some pistachio flavored macaroons and opened them very gently. I then stuck in an edible pearl candy and placed them on the cake stand. The gorgeous mermaid and mermaid tail cookies were created by my ever talented friend Shanan.

Ok so I am sharing a recipe for my favorite sugar cookies below if you want to get creative and make any of these yourself. However, I HIGHLY recommend just ordering right from Shanan over at Enchanted Cookie Boutique (she does nationwide shipping…woot, woot) and she can do regular or gluten-free cookies!
